New Prosport digital Gauges
Santa brought these for me for Christmas so the last week or so I was busy wiring, splicing, fusing, welding, installing and connecting. All left is waiting for a fuel pressure adapter (bought used for $ 20.00) to hook up the fuel pressure gauge. Gauges so tight in the dash pod that I didn't need to attach them yet. If necessary will put a spot of silicon behind the gauge face flange. Here's a couple of pics. White - day Green - night

Looks awesome Len, did you have to drill any holes in your dash for the wiring?

No, I daisy chained all the wires and ran them through the defrost vent accessing them from behind the glovebox. Wasn't too bad a job. Took some time but doable.

I wondered if you could do it that way. I've read of people doing it like that. I've always liked those centre dash mounted gauges

The dash pod has two bolts on a metal plate that you adhere to the dash and then place the pod and reach in to put nuts on the two bolts and tighten them down. The grain of the material isn't the same as the dash and it's a little darker, but it still integrates quite well. I didn't want to cut into the fuel line to T it to the fuel sender so I picked up a used fuel rail adapter with a 1/8" fitting to screw the adapter in. The gauges aren't dimmable with the car's dimmer but only with a small port on the back where you can turn the light intensity down. I had the light wire connected the headlamp wire behind the headlight switch, but when I attempted to dim the lights at night it would make the green gauge lights pulsate or flash so I solved that issue by running the gauge lights wire to the rear marker wire (pink/red) in the passenger side threshold. Work good now.

Thanks. I looked at some other types; Ford, Autometer and the like. All pretty expensive and with some of them you have to buy the sensors and attachments separately. Rather than cut the fuel line to splice in the fuel pressure sensor, a guy on S197 Forum was selling a fuel rail adapter (used for pressure sensors and Nos) for twenty bucks so I picked that up at Montana Shipping yesterday after spending a couple of days in Great Falls. I just finished installing it and it works great. Paid a $ 1.15 in Canadian Tire money to get a couple of longer bolts - it was almost too easy to install. It never ends.

Re: New Prosport digital Gauges
Oops! Spoke to soon. Fuel pressure sender went haywire already. Prosport wants me to send the sender back for testing before replacing. $ 24.00 part that they are afraid to replace on warranty. Doesn't look like Prosport was a good choice. Cheaper and quicker just to buy one and I found one in Kelowna. Would not recommend Prosport. Will try to mount the sender away from the adapter on the fuel rail so there's not as much vibration. This speaks volumes for the quality and durability of Prosport. Live and Learn.

Isolated the new fuel sender with a 16" grease gun hose with 1/8" NTP connections at both ends. Works good now. Send the defunct sender back to Prosport on the last trip to Great Falls. Will see if they honour the warranty and send me a new one.
